Lets take a quick look at the concept of minions: The Bone Fiend is a ranger, the Bone Horror is a warrior, these 2 deal physical damage. So perhaps an assasin based minion - something with quick attack speed but is relatively small and is more fragile. I like the bone dragon idea, but instead of taking an already existing monster/foe, have a different type of undead for a two corpse spell? I.E maybe:

Animate Undead Wyvern {E}
Energy: 15 | Casting time: 3 | Recharge: 15
Exploit the nearest 2 corpses to animate a level 10-26 undead wyvern. This minion has a permanent 10% speed bonus and deals 50 damage to anyone adjacent when it dies. You may only have 1 wyvern at a time.

If we are looking at taking skins from already existing monsters perhaps:

Animate undead skeletal dog thing (only allowed 2 at a time)
Animate pissed of skeleton dude that you find from the catacombs
Animate grasping ghoul
Animate undead troll (only allowed 2 at a time)

Animate undead wurm {E} (only allowed 1 at a time) (obviously wouldnt be as big as the current wurms, perhaps the size of a deeproot behemoth)

Animate undead gaurdian (would have the skin of a behemoth, smaller than one, but still wouldnt be able to move)

Since gw3 is in africa, there could be summons based on an aborigine theme.

my 2 cents + a button

Doubt it.

I want some more elites in the Curses line, or something in death magic that doesn't use summons.

Just no more life stealing skills, touch rangers are way to powerful in groups.

About the Demon skills, I don't know how A-net goes about class lore, but Necromancer's usually do not deal with demons, but rather the dead. The are known for summoning/ dealing with the dead. On a more wide outlook, a class that does deal with demons/ demonic power are infact Warlocks, which I would very much like to see implemented in one of the chapters .

So I personally wouldnt expect to see demonic powers for necro's unless A-net go about lore, very different. I expect to see spells dealing with death.

Would be good to see a flying minion , or as someone said before, class minions.

Bone Dragon Elite would be cool. Leave the Elements to Es or Rits( after all, their summoned spirits are almost quite useless in PVE or PVP. The best rits are rest ones or Rt/N.) If ANet wanted to make the rit more of a Summoner or leave it a weak totem shaman.

I second the notion. The Flesh Golem was a nice change from the fiends and horrors.

The problem is Vampiric Horrors/Bone Horrors/Bone Minions all have the same skin. I wouldn't mind if they just changed the color, but at least not have them EXACTLY the same since it really is pain when minionbombing (or just using Taste of Death).

P.S. Scarabs are a must for a Egyptian theme.

For the resurrections:

Animate Dead (Death Magic)
Cast 5s Energy 10 Recharge 10 (modify for balance)

Resurrect target ally with (a..b) Health and (x..y) Energy. Target ally's next death incurs no DP, however, until target's next death target suffers double damage from light and holy and suffers health degeneration 1, increasing by an additional 1 every 30 seconds.

Animate Bone Effigy [E]
25 Energy, 3sec casting time, 60 second recharge.
Exploit nearest dead ally to summon a level 1....24 Bone Effigy of that ally. This effigy performs the tasks of its formerly living counterpart. This effigy dies after 30....180 seconds.

...so imagine being able to conjure an undead henchman. Effigies would be marginally stronger than the living equivalent.

Edit: Someone already said this. At the beginning of the thread. o_o;

CRY MOAR?

On topic.. No... More Summons. I would like the minions skin to be change,dand the vampiric horror I suppose.

But really - we already have enough. When more get added groups will start looking for a MM with this certain summon, rather than this and blahblahblah.

If you were to make a new summon, make it cool. Don't just take an existing one - buff the health, level and damage and voila! I think it'd be cool to see a minion that would walk around and it's attacks cause random conditions or something.

My Ideas:

AoE and PBAoE minions. Maybe slow down the attack speed to balance it. BP in ToPK would be silly kinds o'fun.

Bone versions of the poision spiders in the FoW cave.

An elite summon that randomly tosses out conditions like Druken Blow.

Summon Flesh Strider {E}

25 energy 5 second cast time 45 second recharge

Summons a Flesh Strider: Beast moves 33% faster and has +40 armor and is able to mount up to two players. Flesh strider will last 15...180 seconds depending on death magic. While mounted players cannot cast or attack. The caster when mounted can control the strider.

(Grenth has an AL of 120 and attacks 50-100, with 20% armor penetration versus monks) As long as Grenth is in the mortal realm, all surrounding creatures will receive half healing from monk skills. When Grenth returns to the Underworld, you die. Grenth's pact cannot be cast while Grenth is already in the mortal realm. His health does not degenerate.

requires 30 energy
5 sec casting time
60 sec recharge

You sell your soul and in return Grenth himself comes to punish your enemies.
This would be a pretty cool skill, but I also like one of the basic ideas of it: trading in your minions for upgraded undead.

Animate Golem
25e - 5c - 20r

Sacrifice closest (5 - 3) allied undead. A lvl (1 - 26) golem is summoned in their place. This golem leaves a corpse behind.

The power would be about the same as the current Flesh Golem, which is probably less than the three previous minions you had to sacrifice. And of course you can't chain summon it like the elite version, after it's gone you'll have to wait until you gather 3 more minons.

This might also give MM's a bit more management over their numbers, yet enable growth in power (like we really need more power) as more bodies are "freed" from your enemies. You also probably wouldn't be able to have 10 of these at once, eventually you'll start sacrificing one in an attempt to summon another.

Warlocks, I think, would be more suited to summoning the Oni from Cantha, the smoke phantoms fall more under summoner/dark priest kinda thing. Which I would love to see. Ritualists wouldn't quite be able to work this in(the way they're set up its only chained spirits), but I've seen them as more like necro monks(since they are called damned clerics). I wish Anet would find a way to start letting us play those classes. I know somebody else has a thread about an Executioner class, but i'd love to be a damned cleric and be able to summon phantoms and stuff.
Back on topic: would love to see more variety in the summons skins, though I think anything that would let you summon anything large(like a bone dragon) Anet would probably make elite like flesh golem. Hopefully they won't, because then you'll be able to choose between an army of little dudes, or one or two large ones.

...But speaking of five-energy skills that spam well on minions, how about a built in permanent Death Nova? Tone the damage down a bit and you've got single-spell minion bombs*, which offer a nice design tension vs the classic army-sustaining minion masters.

````````````````````````````````
Animate Putrid Corpse 15/3/8
Exploit the nearest corpse to animate a level 1...12 Putrid Corpse. When it dies, adjacent foes take 15...60 damage and are Poisoned for 8 seconds.
````````````````````````````````

Another option would be an inverted Animate Bone Minions: Intead of one corpse producing two minions, how about a spell that requires two corpses for a bigger effect?

````````````````````````````````
{Elite} Animate Bone Dragon 25/4/60
Exploit the nearest two corpses to animate a level 6...26 Bone Dragon. You can only have one Bone Dragon at a time.
````````````````````````````````

Due to the higher corpse consumption, these would be less common on "classic" minion masters - but would be cool as the equivalent of a pet for damage-and-disease based Death necros.

*I hate trying to manually target my minions for the Nova, I'll admit.
wow i loove your ideas paperfly. and maybe some bone feinds with a head
